Dare To Soar – Online Workshop

Welcome to the “Dare to Soar” workshop series, specifically designed to empower and support women who are survivors of domestic abuse and other traumatic experiences. This three-part workshop series aims to help you rebuild your self-esteem and boost your confidence. We understand the courage it takes to seek healing and growth, and we’re here to provide you with the tools and strategies to rebuild your sense of self-worth and confidence.

This course is being run during the 16 Days of Activism against Gender Based Violence.

The 16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence is an annual international campaign that kicks off on 25 November, the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, and runs until 10 December, Human Rights Day. 

The campaign was started by activists at the inauguration of the Women’s Global Leadership Institute in 1991. It is used as an organising strategy by individuals and organisations around the world to call for the prevention and elimination of violence against women and girls.

SO WHAT DOES THE COURSE INCLUDE?

Workshop Session 1: “Understanding Self-Esteem and Its Impact” Duration: 1 hour

In this first session, we will explore the concept of self-esteem and how it can be affected by past traumas. You will learn to:

Define self-esteem and its components.
Understand the impact of trauma on self-esteem.
Identify personal experiences and challenges related to self-esteem.
Begin the process of self-reflection and self-compassion.

Workshop Session 2: “Understanding self-care and self-compassion as essential tools for your healing journey” Duration: 1 hour

In this session you will learn:

Learn the importance of self-care in rebuilding your self-esteem.
Explore various self-care practices and create a self-care plan.
Develop self-compassion and self-forgiveness strategies.
Share and discuss self-care experiences and challenges with the group.

Workshop Session 3: “Building Resilience and Setting Boundaries” Duration: 1 hour

Resilience and healthy boundaries are crucial for regaining your confidence and self-esteem. In this session, you will:

Understand the concept of resilience and how it relates to confidence.
Identify and address personal boundaries, learning to set healthy ones.
Practice assertiveness and communication skills.
Share your insights and experiences with boundaries and resilience.

Workshop Expectations:

Each session will include a mix of presentations, discussions, and interactive exercises.
Confidentiality and respect for all participants are vital throughout the workshops.
You are encouraged to ask questions, share your experiences, and offer support to others in the group.
